FAQ - Personal Health Condition
If you feel sick and have respiratory symptoms, with or without fever, keep on wearing your mask and consult a doctor promptly. You should stay at home or student hall and avoid going to crowded places. You must refrain from work or social gatherings, and report your case to your Department Head, Unit Head or course supervisor immediately.
If there is any chance that your health condition may be related to COVID-19, you should go to the Accident and Emergency Department of the nearest hospital as soon as possible. The one closest to our campus is Tseung Kwan O Hospital. The hospital will provide laboratory testing for COVID-19 if appropriate.
For students residing in halls, you should notify your Hall Manager, and see a doctor at the Campus Medical Clinic (tel: 2358 6670) or other clinics. Again, go to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Tseung Kwan O Hospital if the illness is acute or your health condition is COVID-19 related. You can contact University’s Security Control Center (tel: 2358 8999) for emergency assistance any time.
Report it to your Department Head, Unit Head or course supervisor if you have been informed by officers of Department of Health that you are a “close contact”. Follow the instructions given by the officer to stay at home or quarantine centers for compulsory quarantine. You should complete the Online COVID-19 Related Report Form as soon as possible.
If you are unsure whether your contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 is considered a close contact, or require any medical follow up, you can call the Department of Health hotline 2125 1111 or 1122 (daily from 9 am to 10 pm).
If you are a student residing in hall and are required to undergo home quarantine, notify the Hall Warden and Hall Manager immediately to make necessary arrangements. Under the current university policy, student hall cannot be used for quarantine.
Infected staff and students should inform their supervisor as soon as possible and as their health condition allows, and complete the Online COVID-19 Related Report Form.
Infected student who is a hall resident should inform his/her Hall Warden and Hall Manager immediately.
